Responsible Minerals Initiative (RMI), Responsible Cobalt Initiative (RCI)
The Responsible Minerals Initiative (RMI) is a membership organisation that encourages the responsible sourcing of minerals globally. The Responsible Cobalt Initiative (RCI) is dedicated to identifying, preventing and systemically addressing social and environmental challenges in the cobalt supply chain. The RMI ASM Cobalt Normative Framework was developed by the RCI and the RMI. The Framework aims to articulate a baseline of safe, formal artisanal production, paired with explicit thresholds at which investment is needed to support progressive improvement.
